In 1995, he commenced his own practice at Powell Preece and Associates, known as Preece Martin since 2004. The practice rebranded to Preece Accounting in 2020.
Craig possesses a wealth of expertise in many diverse areas, including income tax, GST, business administration, accounting software, IT solutions and estate planning. His enthusiastic and hard-working approach has made him a respected and well-regarded professional in the industry.
Craig continues to provide high-quality service and advice to a diverse range of clients. Whether it is primary production, retail and manufacturing, construction or the not-for-profit sector, Craig’s ability to communicate the most complex of taxation matters makes him invaluable to his clients. He has been an accredited trainer with Reckon Accounting Software since 2000. He has a particular interest in the continually growing and complex area of superannuation and has assisted many with the set-up and operation of their own Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF), including as a registered SMSF auditor. Craig is also a Registered Company Auditor.
Craig was a founding member of the Australian not-for-profit Accountants Network Inc, which was initially formed to assist not-for-profit organisations in the area of GST. As time moved on, this group has done much to assist organisations with all aspects of not-for-profit operations.
Craig is an enthusiastic sports fan, particularly AFL, cricket and fishing. Craig spends most of his spare time watching his children play cricket, football, hockey and anything else they compete in. Along with his wife and three children, Craig is deeply involved in his church and can be found most Sundays on his guitar or working with local youth groups.
